How does Flickr! determine the interestingness of a picture?

You know how you can view your pictures as ranked by interestingness? I can't find any place on Flickr! that explains how the site determines this quality. There doesn't seem to be a precise correlation with number of views, number of comments, or number of times it has been favorited.

Anyone have a clue?

How does Flickr! determine the interestingness of a picture?
They use a (secret?) algorithm for that. It's also used to determine if a picture will appear on their explore page which show every day 500 pictures. Besides numbers of views, comments, favorites it is also in correlation with the number of groups it is posted by the photographer. The more groups, the less interestingness.

Go to their help page and type in "explorer" or "interestingness", many people wonder about this thing and nobody seems to really know how it is done.
