I have always utilized Ofoto among other popular sites. What makes Flickr so unique?
What Makes Flickr so unique? Whats all the fuss about?
No ads, pop ups or banners. It's a clean, easy to manipulate interface and it's a very popular site. There is no need to register to just browse or if someone sends you a link of their pictures, you don't need to register for that either (which I HATE doing with sites like Kodak, Snapfish, etc.). Oh yes, and it's free.
Reply:Thats the best software for photo sharing on the net and also the most popular.
Reply:Here is PC Magazine's answer to your question:
"There are plenty of photo-sharing services, but Flickr (www.flickr.com) is photo-sharing for the digerati. Like smugmug or Shutterfly, Flickr is a Web service that lets you share photos among friends and family. But it cultivates a lively, informal atmosphere—similar to what you'll find in the world of blogging and Internet discussion groups. And unlike smugmug or Shutterfly, it creates a kind of online community, a place where you can you interact with photo-sharers you don't know along with those you do.
With Flickr, friends, family, and even strangers can become participants in the creation of your online photo collection. Once you upload photos to the site, you can easily tag them with keywords so they're readily searchable, or add notes and annotations that pop up when you mouse over images. You can also invite others—even strangers—to tag and annotate your photos. Granted, this sort of thing isn't for everyone, but the hip Net set may find that it's just what they're looking for."
