OK A question about Flickr?

I reset the privacy settings on my flickr account .

I then came in from another account , and even the photos I marked private are viewable.

Does this mean the privacy settings on Flickr don't work

OK A question about Flickr?
First, verify that you're logged out. I know that sounds stupid, but sometimes I don't get properly logged out of flickr. Second, make sure that the privacy setting saved properly. At the bottom of each photo page, is there a small green, yellow or red dot? This shows what level of privacy the photo is set at. If it's green anyone can see it, yellow means some people can see it and red means only you can see it.

--If it's green, try re-saving your privacy settings.

--If it's yellow, make sure that you are not logged into another account that is a "contact" with the first account. If it is, this may be why you can see it and you have your privacy settings set up so that friends/family can see the photos.

--If it's red you should only be able to see these photos when logged into your own account. UNLESS: you have sent these photos to a group pool. When you do that it negates the privacy setting. If this isn't the case, email flickr's help desk: http://www.flickr.com/help/contact/
Reply:Yes, it doesn't work.

It is for this reason I have stopped using it after being forcibly moved over from Yahoo Photos.

May advice, use Google Picasa. Their security works.
Reply:not necessarily - if you were logged on to the same computer under the same username when you changed between accounts and hadn't logged off your internet application flickr will remeber your computer ID/address/whatever and recognise that you are the same person (I think) -

It happens on myspace - if you change between profiles the myspace server recognises that you are still online........
Reply:wha? youve got two accounts??
